Casa Bueras Boutique Hotel - Santiago, Chile (Feb 1 - Feb 7, 2023)
This was a great hotel choice. Location in the city was excellent - close to many great restaurants and night life in the Lastarria neighborhood. The hotel was quiet and muy tranquilo. Staff was very helpful and most spoke a little English. They went out of their way to provide us insights on what to see and do in Santiago. They booked our tours and arranged our transportation to and from the hotel. the hotel felt very safe and secure. We paid $148 per night. We actually extended our stay by three days.
With the price of the room Casa Bueras offered a nice breakfast and served great coffee. The patio which overlooked the pool was beautiful and a great place to wake up with a cup of coffee or relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine. Guests must learn to patient with the old and slow elevator, but it does add to the charm of the place.
Our only complaint was during our stay the hot water went out. We went several days without any hot water. The staff kept telling us any time it would be fixed. One day they walked us over to a sister hotel to give us access to a hot shower. At the end of our stay they discounted our hotel charges.
Setting aside the issue with the hot water, I would give the hotel a solid four-star rating. I am sure some of the big hotel chains have incredible rooms and full-service amenities, but Casa Bueras was much more our speed. I would stay there again.
